# Nearly 40 years keeping Stockport warm, one family, one standard.

Swainson Gas Services is a family-run, Gas Safe registered engineering business based in Stockport. We look after homeowners and landlords right across Stockport and the surrounding areas, the same way Alan Swainson did when he founded the firm in 1986.

Our story 

## A family gas engineering business, since 1986.

Alan Swainson spent eleven years learning his trade at British Gas before setting up on his own in 1986. He built the business the old-fashioned way , turning up when he said he would, doing the job properly, and standing behind the work afterwards. Word of mouth did the rest.

John grew up in the workshop. He served his apprenticeship alongside his father and has spent his entire working life on domestic boilers, gas fires and central heating systems. Today he runs the business himself: one Gas Safe registered engineer, no subcontracted labour, no call centre, no sales team.

We specialise in one thing: keeping domestic gas heating running safely and efficiently in the homes of Stockport and the surrounding villages. That's it. No van fleet chasing new towns, no side jobs outside our patch. Just careful, unhurried work on the same streets we've served for four decades.

Over 500 local households are on our maintenance contract, many of them second and third-generation customers. That continuity is what we're most proud of.

Boiler work is safety-critical. Our job is to make sure your gas appliances run safely, efficiently, and for as long as they should. We take that seriously.

### Gas Safe, always

Every job is carried out personally by John Swainson, on the Gas Safe register under #9663. No apprentices sent unsupervised, no subcontractors.

### 12-month workmanship guarantee

Every repair, service and installation is covered by a written 12-month workmanship guarantee. If we've fixed it, it stays fixed.

### Honest, upfront pricing

Fixed £98 call-out & diagnostic, boiler service from £98, CP12 from £110. No ambush surcharges, no cash-only rules, card machine on the van.

### Turn up when we say

You'll get a real time slot from the engineer who's coming, not a 'sometime today' from a dispatcher. Same-day breakdown attendance during the week.

### Fix first, upsell never

Van stocked with the common parts for Worcester, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm and Main. Most breakdowns are done in one visit. We won't quote a new boiler when yours can be repaired.

### One number, one engineer

You'll speak to John or his wife on the phone, and John will attend the job. That's the entire business. It's why our customers stay for decades.
