## 1\. Who we are

This website is operated by Swainson Gas Services Ltd (company number 06431538), a family-run gas engineering business based in Stockport. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller of the personal information you provide to us.

## 2\. Information we collect

When you contact us, via the website form, phone, email or in person, we may collect:

-   Your name and contact details (phone number, email address, postcode/address)
-   Details of the service you're enquiring about (e.g. boiler make/model, fault description)
-   Records of the work we carry out for you, including Gas Safe paperwork and CP12 certificates
-   Payment records (we do not store card details, payments are taken via a card terminal)

## 3\. How we use your information

We use your information only to:

-   Respond to your enquiry and arrange a visit or quotation
-   Carry out and invoice the work you have booked
-   Issue statutory Gas Safe documentation (e.g. CP12 landlord certificates)
-   Contact you about service reminders or maintenance contract renewals
-   Meet our legal, tax and Gas Safe record-keeping obligations

## 4\. Legal basis

We process your data under the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (to deliver the service you booked), legal obligation (Gas Safe record keeping, HMRC), and legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and providing customer support).

## 5\. Who we share information with

We do not sell your data. We may share it only with: Gas Safe Register (for notifiable work), HMRC and our accountant (for tax purposes), and our IT/email/payment providers acting under strict processor agreements.

## 6\. How long we keep it

We retain customer records for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above, and thereafter to comply with our legal obligations; typically 6 years for tax records and in line with Gas Safe requirements for gas work documentation.

## 7\. Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies required for basic operation. We do not run advertising cookies or profile visitors.

## 8\. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

-   Access the personal data we hold about you
-   Ask us to correct inaccurate data
-   Ask us to delete data (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations)
-   Object to or restrict certain processing
